Project Overview
The Social Security Administration (SSA) wanted to enhance its online disability and retirement services by improving security, usability, and fraud prevention features. Our team worked together with Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and CSRA to modernize and innovate SSA’s e-Services.
The collaboration led to the development of a self-service portal integrated with predictive modelling to detect and prevent fraudulent activities. We developed a secure, scalable, and efficient solution by utilizing advanced data analytics and a robust technology stack from IBM, Microsoft, and Amazon.
The successful launch of the mySocialSecurity portal has allowed seamless access to over 32 million users, ensuring the agency’s mission to provide secure and reliable services to every citizen.
Challenge
One of the major challenges was the Detection and prevention of fraud while maintaining usability. SSA’s mission was to provide secure and reliable disability and retirement services as every member of the public relies on the SSA’s services.
As the agency’s e-Services grew, providing easy, secure, and reliable access to SSA’s services to every citizen became crucial to reducing fraud and abuse.
The agency sought a partner to streamline business processes and reduce fraud while expanding different service channels. We teamed with Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, and CSRA to deliver on this modernization and innovation initiative.
The Solution
Our team worked with government leaders as technology advisors for the Retirement and Disability Modernization efforts. We helped design and develop a new self-service portal for citizens.
The team also helped improve the process for fraud and abuse detection and prevention. We made the new process efficient and more effective by implementing modern data analytics and predictive modelling to identify high-risk transactions.
The agency has successfully launched the Retirement and Disability Service through its mySocialSecurity portal. Until now more than 32 million users have registered to utilize SSA’s e-Services!
